Born and raised in the Petworth neighborhood of Washington, DC, Jolan has lived in the DMV area for most of his life. He went to Georgetown Day School located in the Palisades and Tenleytown neighborhoods for 12 years+ and moved to Chicago to receive a BFA at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago. After staying in Chicago for about a decade he moved back to DC to pursue a career in framing, art handling, and design. Over the years, Jolan has worked in various galleries, museums, and frame shops, including a couple nonprofits specializing in teaching art/media techniques to grade school children and high school seniors. Jolan is also a fine artist, specializing in: painting, drawing, printing, photography, and collage.
